Hi! I'm Saumya (pronounced sawm-yaa), and I'm an artist and designer based in Bangalore, India.
Currently a freelance designer, I'm splitting my time between social impact-based design work, children's book illustration, and animation-related artwork.
Before freelancing, I spent two years at the Samsung Research Institute, Bangalore, as a UX designer working on developing new and delightful ways of experiencing our personal electronics. I've
completed a B.Des+M.Des (a 5-year dual degree in design) with a specialization in Animation at the IDC School of Design, IIT Bombay.
I strive to be an expert storyteller, and to this goal I'm always sharpening my visual, textual, and technical tools. I always love a good challenge or a tricky puzzle.
I'm also an occasional drummer, a longtime Bharatnatyam dancer, and a lifelong seafood-enjoyer. My greatest professional desire is to make a living out of good design,
beautiful images, and stunning colors; my secret personal desire is to make my loved ones shed tears of amazement at my cooking.
