Development art for 'Gadar' was created as part of a team exercise where 6 students collaborated to create a proof-of-concept package for the animated sections of a historical documentary. My contributions were in the areas of development art and style direction, character design, and background painting. The documentary focuses on the experiences of US-immigrant Sikh loggers in the early 1900s, and the racially-motivated violence they faced. Parallely, the fight for Indian independence gains traction and US-based revolutionary Har Dayal calls for action.
